The Power of Forgiveness

Talk about an incredible story. This makes my trials seem small by comparison—and so much more bearable.

Here is the caption for the video on YouTube: “Forgiveness and the power of Jesus Christ enable a man to survive losing his wife and several children in a car accident—and allow the offending driver to begin rebuilding his own life. Read President James E. Faust’s talk on forgiveness.”

And it makes it even more poignant to know that this man was serving as bishop at the time this happened to him!

Wow. Wow. Wow. Thanks for the video. Faust's talk on forgiveness is the talk I turn to each time I think I should forgive or don't think I can.

This one came out this month and I like the idea of preparing to forgive before the need arises.

Today, this story was shared with me:

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a debate that goes on inside people. He said, “My son, the battle between two wolves is inside us all. One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.”

“The other is good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith.”

The grandson thought about this for a minute and then asked his grandfather: “Which wolf wins?”

The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”
